Ultra-Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour 2017

The Ultra-Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour comes back for its 3rd edition on next August 25th, 26th and 27th !
This incredible race of 145km between the sea and the mountains is one of the most renowned in France. On this occasion, the Hotel Brice Garden Nice will welcome the sportspeople in the heart of Nice !

The Ultra-Trail is a running race in the wilderness and is famous for its very long distance, more than 100km in general. The Ultra-Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour is particularly difficult because of its 10,000m of ascending elevation and 9,000 of negative elevation.

It will start on next August 25th at 5 p.m., at Champ des Scouts, on Saint Michel area, in the North of Nice. But first, you must retrieve your bib on Place Masséna, a few minutes from the Hotel Brice Garden Nice, on the day of the departure or the day before.
Then, racers will engage in a journey of 145km through nature and along the National Park of Mercantour. Sportspeople will find in their path different supply and resting points until their arrival, two days later, at Saint-Martin-Vésubie.

This sporting event is incredible because of its difficulty, but also because of the landscapes it offers to the eyes : ultra-trailers will be able to enjoy breathtaking views on the region of Nice, particularly from Mont Pépoiri, at an altitude of 2,674m, which offers a 360° panorama.
Every finisher of the event will receive 6 qualifying points for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) 2018, which is part of the Ultra-Trail World Tour.

For those who don’t feel ready to cross so many kilometres, four other courses are proposed in the frame of the Trails de la Vésubie : the 70km, the 45km, the 25km or “discovery trail” and the Vésubienne (12km). So almost everybody can be initiated into this event and marvel at the landscapes of the French Riviera according to his or her physical capacities.
